We have closed our dam to try and maintain our recreational pool.
This is exactly what our dam was designed to do.
Hold back water in times of drought. And release water in times of flooding.
Hard to believe. In six weeks, we can go from a moderate flood to thinking about drought conditions.
Don’t see any rain in the forecast till next weekend for the farmers.
We are just about two weeks away from our second ironman event, June 14th.
In preparation, I have been concentrating on tree removal from auburn street south.
I’m getting a pretty good handle on it.
There was a pretty big dead head on Indian Terrace that I was able to move away from residence docks And closer to the pedestrian bridge.
It obviously has a rootball at the bottom because it will not move very easily.
I will have to come in with the Crane and remove that before the 14th.
In the meantime, it is out of navigation area and I will get a milk jug on it.
Debris is very sporadic, mostly small stuff.
But it is not uncommon to see a 10 or 20 foot tree being dislodged and floating down the river.
My barge tends to collect a little bit when it’s parked at my house as the fire pile shows.
We are selling ski flags again this year at my dock.
Please only take one and leave the ten dollars underneath the cone.
Little bit cooler weather this weekend for boating, and look forward to seeing customers and families out enjoying our greatest asset.
Prairie street has opened up there south pier for public access this year.
Dinner on the dock thursday nights is always a great family event.
The dock is in at water street. Just north of the state street bridge for boaters wanting to take in city market.
Tad’s also has bands on the weekends for another place to stop and enjoy.
