And maintaining our recreational pool level for boating.<br><br>The pec and sugar rivers have not crested so we are receiving good flow into our basin.<br><br>This is a good thing because like clockwork on Thursday, Indian Ford closes their dam to backup water on lake koshkonong for the weekend.<br><br>Looks to be great weather this weekend for getting out and enjoying the river before Monday&#8217;s heat wave kicks in.<br><br>There was some decent sized trees that we&#8217;re dislodged this week. But for the most part debris has quieted down.<br>But as always, keep an eye on what is in front of your boat, as you travel up and down the river.<br><br>I have noticed an increase in new jet ski owners this spring in our area.<br><br>For many of them, it is their first time operating a watercraft on our river.<br>As fellow boaters, we need to keep a vigilant eye on them when operating, as they may not possess the skills to turn their head before turning their jet ski to avoid other boats.<br><br>It&#8217;s up to everyone who uses the river to make sure we have a safe<br>Boating season this year.<br><br>We are still searching for the perfect replacement rockness monster to carry on the four decade tradition on our river.<br><br>This tuesday night from 4 to 8 p m At the lombardi club, friends and family will gather to celebrate the life of jim (pickle)anderson.<br><br>We we&#8217;ll always remember the countless memories we have shared seeing&nbsp; his rock ness monsters over the years.<br><br>I became good friends with pickle in the mid eighties when I joined the ski Broncs <br>It was hard not to love pickle.<br>His smile and Great sense of humour touched everyone he came in contact with.<br>We spent many years together as comic relief sidekicks, for various ski bronc announcers.<br><br>We always kept them on their toes, because we never followed a script and just made up what we thought would get the crowd to chuckle.<br><br>I remember once when I was out of town and pickle filled in for me.<br>When it came to my barefoot&nbsp; start off the main dock, jim had his own idea for that act.<br>His plan was to jump off the dock when the rope came tight, and then let go.<br><br>Well, it didn&#8217;t turn out like he had planned by hanging on too long and the rope getting caught on his leg. Creating one hell of a rope&nbsp; burn.<br><br>I also remember one time during intermission, I talked jim into commandeering the twin engine ski boat to go out and entertain the crowd.<br><br>I guess I didn&#8217;t notice when jim had gone to the back of the boat to try and act like the motors weren&#8217;t running.<br>I did a boat stand that got the crowd going but I did get in a little trouble when we got back.<br>I still remember bob baxter&#8217;s exact words.<br><br>He said to me, YOU DAM NEAR TILLED PICKLE.<br><br>I don&#8217;t think it was that close. But it was just one of my many fond memories over the years with pickle and the ski team.<br><br>Pickle has joined the list of ski bronx, who are no longer with us, but we know they are up above watching us&nbsp; and rooting for us.<br><br>This Sunday morning there is another celebration of life for phil solomon&#8217;s, one of the founding members of the ski team.<br><br>It will be held at Shorewood park, which Phil was instrumental in developing the site many decades ago.<br><br>Once a ski bronc, always a ski bronc.<br><br>The bonds that the ski team members create last forever.<br><br>RIP gentlemen you are gone but never forgot.<br><br>That was a tough one to write.<br><br>Enjoy our beautiful river this weekend.
