To put a few extra inches of water in lake koshkanog for the weekend.<br><br>The weatherman have been a little off with their rain predictions this past week.<br><br>The majority of the rainfall has been going south of us.<br><br>We really need it to hit the pecatonica and sugar river basins to give us some elevation in our river levels.<br><br>Still, good water south of bridge street for boating, though, if the weather permits this weekend.<br><br>815 festival is happening at davis park.<br><br>There is a band tonight followed by a fireworks show, weather permitting.<br><br>Saturday night there will be a spectacular drone show after sunset.<br><br>Let&#8217;s hope the rain holds out so we have a reason to hop in the boat and head downtown tonight.<br><br>The previous post, it showed that over 100 pelicans came to town to stop at auburn street rock bar and visit nessi the rock ness monster.<br><br>Our resident pelican pickle didn&#8217;t want to hang with the gang of adults.<br><br>The picture shows him with the<br><br> Light tan group of pelicans.<br><br>From what I understand it takes a few years for new pelicans to get their full white coat.<br><br>If you knew pickle, you knew that kids always loved him and wanted to be around him.<br><br>He was always able to make kids laugh. And i&#8217;m sure he did the same with the young pelicans when they stopped for a visit.<br><br>Our river is so full of life and visitors in the summertime.<br><br>Between blue herons and an occasional loon.<br><br>I&#8217;m sure i&#8217;m violating a rule, but I have been raising a mama and three baby ducks. This year <br><br>They come for breakfast at sun up and for dinner when the sun goes down.<br><br>Can you blame them? They&#8217;re living on a diet of&nbsp; sunflower hearts and deshelled peanuts.<br><br>Progress is continuing at the stones landing park project.<br><br>The second set of pilings are going in for another permanent viewing area here that will stay in year round.<br><br>The river might be a little quieter this weekend with rain predicted.
