But there is a slight uptick on the pecatonica river level.<br><br>These cool nights that we had early this week have led to a little smoke on the water in the mornings.<br><br>The algae Bloom on the river has gotten less noticeable, unless the wind&#8217;s blowing right in river&nbsp; Keys.<br><br>Temperatures are still relatively warm, so the blue herons are still in our area.<br><br>They&#8217;re slowly making progress on the stage at davis park, and it is a beautiful river view for a boat ride at night downtown.<br><br>Looks to be a rainy weekend, which i&#8217;m sure will cut down on boating on the river.<br><br>In anticipation, a proactive adjustment will be made at our dam today according to sheriff gary caruana.<br>More adjustments may be needed if water levels show a dramatic increase.<br>It is such a relief to have a sheriff who puts the good of our river community first.<br><br>I was informed that we have another pelican that cannot fly on the river in our area.<br><br>This pelican we have named sandy.<br>For the past three weeks or more, she has been camped out on a log at the tripwire upstream of the rockton dam.<br>I was in contact with a river resident who informed me that she makes daily trips upstream and into a backwater area to feed.<br><br>This rescue is a lot more tricky due to proximity to the spillway.<br>I&#8217;ve been laying the groundwork all week in anticipation of a rescue next week.<br>This required getting in contact with the rockton boat club to have access to the only boat ramp in that area next to the dam.<br>I also had jeff taber, go up with his drone.<br>He is able to herd sandy upstream.<br> Which is needed to keep her upstream of the tripwire.<br>In talking with the rockton dam operator he informed me that the tripwire stays in for at least another month.<br><br>Karen from Hoo Haven brought back the cage. And rescue net for us to use.<br><br>We will have to mobilize my john boat and two jet skis, along with my crew.
