With the lack of rain, the level at Latham is 4.1.
The lack of flow is causing water levels to drop downtown, which means it’s more like a lake with no current.
I wasn’t able to get a picture of him when he first flew over at 6:45 a m this wednesday.
But I did get some photos, as our resident powered paraglider flew back to sports core to land around 7:15 AM.
Our resident pelican is still hanging out at Auburn street, and we’ve decided to name him pickle the Pelican in honor of Jim Anderson and his rock nest monster creation.
We spent some time on Thursday, cleaning all of the docks. And helping with the ski jump in preparation of this weekends, D2 shows ski. Nationals at Shorewood park.
There may be some teams out today practicing at the site until the rain chases them off.
There will be restrictions on the river saturday during the individual’s competition.
A sheriff boat will be stationed at the north and south end of the show Course to inform boaters when they’re allowed to pass through.
Sunday, during team competitions, there could be up to a 1 hour delay with the river being closed during each ski teams show.
Between teams, boats will be allowed to pass on the far west side of the river along the Country Club shore.
The ski Bronx are the first team to ski on Sunday at approximately 7:45 AM.

Great honor for our local ski team to be hosting teams from around the region and to help raise money for the club.
Please be respectful and follow the directions by law enforcement.
Safety is the number one concern for all skiers who are out competing on our beautiful rock river.
The competition should wrap up Sunday at around 2 PM. At which time, the river will be opened back up with no restrictions. And the beach at Shorewood park will be reopened to boat traffic parking.
We are experiencing a nice, warm summer. And there is no excuse to let summer slip away without enjoying all of the great events happening every night.
Monday nights are acoustic on the deck at prairie street with free parking.
Tuesday is food trucks down at Nicholas conservatory, with plenty of free parking for boats.
Wednesday is jazz at burpee with parking for boats.
Thursday, it was always fun. Dinner on the dock at prairie street. The south pier is open with free parking.
Friday is city market, which is always a good time. Parking for 8 boats at the water street dock.
Saturday night is a great time to check out the bands at tad’s bar. Tomorrow night is gang of martians, playing for our entertainment.

We are in the dog days of summer. And the days are getting shorter.

We’ve all seen the boat accidents that have been happening across the country this summer and would like to thank everyone who uses our river for their continued due diligence in making sure everyone is safe while out enjoying our beautiful stretch of the rock River.
Hopefully, we get some good rainfall totals Overnight tonight, which will put a little water back in our river.
There is still decent water for boating, but with the lower levels, obstacles are starting to poke out.
Please remember to have a milk jug with a long string on it in your boat to try and mark these hazards that appear to make it safe for everyone to spot.
Let’s all continue to drive defensively when we’re out enjoying the river with our families, and all make it back to the dock safe and sound.
