The rain that we’ve received this week has kept water levels consistent.
Still good water levels from bridge street south for boating, with all the sandbars marked.
Slight improvement with the algae levels in the river. If we limit our consumption of river water, we will all be fine.
Progress is continuing at stone’s landing on the permanent pier projects.
With the amount of concrete and Rebar, they should hold up with the ice flows that could occur in the wintertime.
Pickle, the pelican is eating swimming and enjoying the sunshine at his temporary woohaven home.
Today is his last day of antibiotics and silvadine.
He now begins a few weeks of physical. Therapy.
Hopefully he starts to improve his wing movement on the road to flying again.

With it still being summer, our river is full of plenty of birds to view while out boating.
We will probably see more pelicans on the river in the upcoming weeks. As the migration process has started.

Plus it never gets old seeing a beautiful bald eagle waiting for his next meal.
My family of ducks that come every morning at sunrise and sunset are getting quite large on there diet of shelled peanuts.
Beautiful views of lit up houses and buildings are always an amazing sight when out boating in the evening.
Labor Day typically signals
The upcoming end of summer.
The calendar says we still have 2 more weeks. And hopefully a little more than that. Since it started late this year.
This weekend there is plenty of entertainment to partake in.
Tad’s on the rock, has the band shuffle this starting at six p m. Saturday night.
They also have the shifty boys from 3 to 6 on Sunday.
The Lombardi club has the band sensations playing at 5:30 on Sunday.
If you’re not a member, you can still anchor out front and enjoy the great music.
Prairie street will be serving up food and fun all weekend also.
Embassy suites has parking for boats with the rooftop restaurant upstairs and a great restaurant downstairs.
We may have to dodge an occasional pop up shower. But don’t let that keep you off the river this weekend.
Typically, there is a larger volume of boat traffic on holiday weekends.
This means defensive driving is the captain’s main priority.
