Thursday Rain Update 7/10/25

River temperature dropped a little to 79° with the two to four inches of rain that just fell.

My text messages have started screaming already that the sky is falling.

The flash flood warnings are for creeks and streams and drainage canals.

We could see the river go up a foot by morning possibly if the rain continues.

If you have a boat in the river you might need to loosen up the ropes a little on the dock if it’s on a fixed dock.

If your boat is on a boat lift, between showers I would highly recommend cranking it up to its upper limit for the evening.

Sheriff Gary Caruana will advise adjustments to the gates on the dam as needed in the morning.

The good news is water levels were on the low side so there’s plenty of room for increased flow from this rain event.

The surge should come and go pretty quick since The heavy rain was locally isolated as opposed to being over the entire 6000 square miles drainage basin.

We were all hoping it was going to be a great night at dinner on the dock and at the sinnissippi band Shell but mother nature through a curveball at us.

Stay safe and be alert and we’ll see what the morning brings for our drainage basin.
