Current river temperature is 66 degrees with this warm weather we’ve been having
Current water level at latham is 4.4
4.0 is our drought level.
I was able to get out this week and relocate some deadheads that were in the channel.
A deadhead is a log that is 90% saturated.
The water logged saturated end sits on the bottom, which means it’s not floating downstream
They can vary anywhere in length from five feet to twenty five feet.
Usually just a few feet of them are not completely saturated. So they stick up just above the water level.
I hook up to them with my jet ski and pull them close to shore so they get hung up and don’t pose a risk for boaters.
The ones from auburn street bridge south I usually tow down to the dam.
I park them just upstream of the four gates so when we do get a high water event and the gates are opened, they flow right out of our area.
Hopefully, the rain in the forecast for the next 5 days only occurs in the evening, While we’re sleeping.
The nicholas conservatory has a big event.
Going on tonight is glow in the gardens.
You can purchase a lantern for 5 dollars and it will be floating in the lagoon.
There is parking for 4 or 5 boats on the dock down there.
Construction has not started yet at davis park, so the dock is still in.
Embassy suites has recently done remodeling this past week to downstairs, and I’m hoping to get down there and see the new improvements.
Weather is still pretty warm this weekend to get out and enjoy our beautiful river.
You’re not a true river rat If you haven’t spent time under one of the bridges during a brief shower.
Look forward to seeing you all out this weekend Enjoying our greatest asset.
Let’s all have fun and make it back to the dock safe and sound.
