Weekend Update 5/15/26

Current river temperature 60°

Current river levels 6.5 at Latham.

Spring fever is in the air with the temperatures finally warming up for this weekend.

With the boat traffic yesterday I did notice a lot of small debris being dislodged.

Sports core does still have a little water over the walkways out to the docks.

I hope to address that with the park district this summer to get a cap on the cement  to stop that problem.

There was an adjustment made to the dam yesterday to try and get some of the debris washed off of the spillway collected from the flooding.

The gates will be adjusted back to normal this morning.

The one lone rockness  monster north of riverside will need a little touch up after the flooding.

We are already working on replacing the missing rockness monster at auburn.

The one that is stuck there now
has a couple of the limbs cut off.

That was stuck on the condo dock next to my shop.

Had I known that was gonna end up there, I wouldn’t have cut those two limbs off.

It was something that had to be done to get it freed up from the dock during the flood.

I was able to get the submerge log at the entrance to sports core taken out as well as the stuck tree in front of Martin park.

Please bring a milk jug with string If you’re going out boating this weekend to mark anything, we may not have gotten taken care of yet.

Just be observant if you’re out boating for the debris that is sure to be dislodged by the start of boat waves for the season.

Have a great weekend Everyone and make it back to the dock safe and sound.
