Luckily, the weathermen were off on their prediction for heavy rainfall this week.
The Pec and sugar rivers got the majority of it. And they are rising faster than we did.

My sweetie and I did a 23 mile run up the pec river last saturday.
Just wanted to scout out what debris was going to be coming the next time the river went up.
Several log jams along the way and one area was only one jet ski wide.
Was able to run into a herd of cows grazing and one was enjoying a little dip in the river.
We are officially in fall, and some of my customers have started pulling their boats. So we can get them winterised, shrink wrapped and put into storage.
Weather’s nice this weekend, so don’t procrastinate. Get out on the water if your boat is still in.
If you’re waiting for indian summer it usually happens midweek and rains on the weekends.
It’s much nicer to clean the boat while the weather’s nice.
Sandy the pelican update:
Had a nice conversation with Karen from who haven this morning.
The vet has evaluated sandy’s condition.
She is missing a 1/8 inch piece of bone on her left-wing.
She is on antibiotics to try and get the sore to heal.
The bone should grow back over time.
She also has all of her flight feathers missing.
They are hoping that they will grow back within the next 3 months.
She must be able to fly to be driven down to Florida and released.
And as would be expected, pickle and sandy are getting along great.
Hoo haven is working with angler’s edge to try and set up an account where we can go and donate money towards the minnows that they purchase regularly to feed the birds.
I hope to have the details worked out next week.
The three pelicans are eating like pigs at they’re temporary home.
Hoo haven is hosting their annual trunk or treat this Sunday from 1 to 3 PM.
Bring the family out for a good time. And tour the facility to see the resident Pelican, Charlie, along with pickle and sandy.

These are the birds we see in the river that don’t float much above water level. They’re black, and they can dive up to 100 feet down looking for fish.
They’re usually only around here spring and fall during migration season.
Weather looks nice this weekend, so go see if the boat will start. If you haven’t used it in a while. And get out and enjoy our beautiful river before the cold weather gets here.
And as always practice, defensive driving, and let’s all make it back to the dock, safe and sound.
