Been a little smoke on the water these last few cold nights.
River level is 4′ at latham.
This means we are at drought level.
The quarter inch of rainThat fell didn’t do much for our river level or our brown grass.
This means
Water level in sports core is a little low.
So you might want to trim the motor up if you’re coming out of there.
The head of the rock regatta is sunday from 7 till around 4 p m.
There is a no wake all day Sunday till the end. From riverside bridge, south to Jefferson street bridge.
There will also be teams practicing on Saturday in that area. So please slow down if you see them on Saturday..
I know there will be a few boats out this weekend. And it is imperative that extreme caution is used to not have any incidents.
The best place to view
The race is anywhere along the bike path.
Competitors will be Rowing upstream from the YMCA to riverside bridge along the west bank.
They then race the clock from Martin park down to the Rowing club at Whitman street bridge..
If you must be in the area, just realize it’s going to take you about 45 minutes at a no wake speed.
And it is advised to not be in the course area if at all possible.
Boaters still have 9 miles of river with no restrictions from riverside bridge up to bridge street all day Sunday to enjoy.
Since they are racing down the east bank, all boats must stay on the west side to not be in their way.
You also need to drive slow and very defensively to yield to any participant, going upstream.
This is an annual event that brings teams in from all over the country.
To support our local economy.
Because of the congestion at the starting line, the boat ramp at Martin park will be closed on Sunday for the event.
Please use sports core or harlem ramp as an alternative.
The construction has started at davis park this week.
The dock has been removed
During the construction.
Many homeowners have started removing their boats for the season.Which is greatly appreciated by my crew.
If your boat is still in it’d be a great night to put a jacket on and go downtown. While the water street dock is still in and visit one of the many restaurants downtown.
I can’t emphasize enough.
