Last week’s rain sent several large trees floating downstream, with some lodging on homeowner’s docks.
We were able to wrangle many of them off and Secure them onshore, to not cause future problems downstream.
River is pretty free of debris at the moment.

Stone’s landing boat ramp is under construction and closed this weekend.
The permanent peers are starting to take shape and look really nice.
If you are going boating, Martin park, sports core, ice house, and Atwood still have docks in.
The head of the rock rigotta is this sunday from 7 a m Till 4 p m
Our town will be visited by hundreds of college Athletes from around the country for this event.
There is a no wake zone from riverside bridge down to the jefferson street bridge on Sunday until the conclusion of the event
The sheriff’s department along with the ski Broncs will be In the area to keep all boats at no wake for the safety of all participants.
The teams traverse upstream along the west bank to martin park.
Then they race against the clock, with the start at martin park, and the end at y m c. A.
I strongly advise all boaters to avoid the area and do all of your boating, north of riverside bridge on sunday.
To get through the course at no Wake from downtown to Martin park. You can expect a 45 minute travel time.
The rowers have the right of way and it will be very stressful for the captain To not get in their way.
Any boats in the course must stay on the west bank.
You can view the race start at Martin park or anywhere along the sinnissippi bike path.
The dock is out at burpee, but the dock is still in at the nicholas conservatory.
There was an adjustment to our dam to try and slow down the current for this event. Because it is a little stronger than normal with last week’s rain.
The trees have started to show some color for boaters viewing enjoyment.
Still, plenty of wildlife along the river also.
hoo haven update:
It is with heavy hearts that their resident comorant passed away unexpectedly this week.
She had the hearts of all the volunteers that worked there with her great personality and friendliness towards volunteers who were taking care of her.
She was the one who ate all of the minnows, so they are not in need of them as much any more now.
Her and Charlie, the resident Pelican, were best friends. So I’m sure Charlie is also heartbroken.
Pickle and sandy the pelicans update:
I was able to see them last sunday when I stopped by the trunk or treat event.
I think they recognized me from my jet ski and didn’t want to have much to say to me.
Karen tells me the two sometimes bicker like brother and sister.
Pickle is about 95 percent healed, but it’s not flapping his wings much yet.
Sandy will probably be around till spring, waiting for her fly feathers to grow back in.
The two are eating like kings on fish fillet diet.
They’re always looking for donations of fish that do not have bones.
They also survive on individual donations of $20 that I’m sure most of us can afford.
The annual open house for Hoo haven is Sunday. November 8th, from 12 to 3.

Many boat owners have put their boat away for the season. So as to not fill up with leaves and wet carpet, when the weather changes.
Looking at the forecast, this seems to be the last warm weather for a while.
Tad’s has a band from 3 to 6 on Saturday and their docks are still in.
The docks are still in at embassy, suites and market street. So if you haven’t taken the gang out for dinner by boat, this could be your last chance.
