2nd Sunday Update 9/20/26

Things are looking better for us on the river.

Predictions have been downgraded by the national weather service.

Looks like our crest will be 6.5 at Latham.

I went down to check the dam just to see what level the gates were adjusted to after 3 adjustments.

One gate is still closed, and 3 gates are halfway open.

We are at 2.0 at the dam, which is 6″ below normal spec.

This is allowing for the river to not excessively rise. And for all the boats from Auburn street, south to not be adversely affected by lower than needed water levels.

We give a big thank you to sheriff Gary caruana and especially com ed for sending out an operator on the weekend to make the needed adjustment after last night’s 2 inch, rainfall.

Just goes to show a little proactivity, goes a long way when we are at lower water flow. And not at flood stage.

Looks like my crew will be out again tomorrow. To remove any trees that have been dislodged upstream with the slightly elevated river level.
