River Flood Update 4/22/26

We’ve dropped about 6 inches is all at Latham.

Looks like light rain in the forecast. But hopefully it stays here and south.

There are areas in Wisconsin now that are experiencing a 100 year flood with the excessive rain that has hit the Midwest.

We had an informative board meeting last night.

Sheriff gary caruana introduced us to the new winnibago county esda director slade barry.

He was in discussion with scott lincoln from the national weather service.  and informed us of some interesting facts.

Since 2019 record show that

There has been an increase in proactivity with the levels at the dam.

There are always going to be doubters that aren’t familiar with how to comprehend the data with the gages.

He was disappointed that the 2 meetings He’s come to town for still have people arguing with facts.

I remember before  we were able to have proactivity through our sheriff. The river flooded in 1993 1996 1999 and 2000.

We are far from out of the wood yet and hopefully minor amounts of rain will not put us on and upward trend again.

This is water height at the latham bridge now.

Luckily, we’re in a low profile boat out clearing trees, because there’s no way a pontoon is going under that bridge.
